The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is a Boston qualifying USATF sanctioned event on a certified 26.2-mile single-loop course. It’s been rated one of 12 “must-run” marathons by Runner’s World magazine. More than just a race, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is a powerful tribute to those who were killed, those who survived, and those changed forever by the April 19, 1995 bombing. Organized to honor the memory of the 168 lives lost, the event is deeply rooted in the mission of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum: to remember, to heal, and to educate. This USATF-sanctioned, Boston-qualifying marathon follows a certified 26.2-mile single-loop course that begins at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. From there, runners journey through the heart of the city, including downtown, Bricktown, the State Capitol, and several of Oklahoma City's most historic and scenic neighborhoods. Along the course, 168 banners: each bearing the name of one of the bombing victims line the route, serving as a moving reminder of Why We Run. Above all, this race is a celebration of life , a sentiment embraced by the race director and felt by every participant and supporter on course. From the enthusiastic crowds to the emotional start line, the marathon embodies strength, unity, and hope.
