About Medal
Made by runners.
We're a small team of running enthusiasts. We built Medal because getting into a big race had become a race of its own, and we kept losing it.
Running a marathon is simple: you train, you show up, you run. Getting to the start line isn't. The races we love most are the hardest to get into, and the way in is different every time.
So we built the tool we wished we'd had. That's Medal.
Why we built it
Where it started
- 01 · The ballotThe one you missed
The ballot opened for a week while you were busy. Now your dream race is a year further away.
- 02 · The tabsForty tabs open
Every race explains its way in differently, on its own site. Spreadsheets didn't save us.
- 03 · The starsSeven stars, seven rulebooks
Each Major has its own entry rules and dates. Planning shouldn't be harder than training.
What Medal does
Every way in, one place
Medal brings together the marathons and half marathons runners dream about, from the World Marathon Majors to the small local half, with every way in: ballots, qualifying times, charity places, tour operators and general entry, and the dates that matter for each.
Put a race on your Radar and we'll remind you before entries open and close. Mark the races you're running and count down to race day. Track your Majors. And ask runners who've done it in each race's Race Club: about the course, the ballot or the trip.
What we believe
How we run it
- Free to use
- Finding races, your Radar and the reminders are free. Getting in is hard enough.
- The organizer has the final word
- We check our dates and rules carefully and always link to the official site, so you can confirm before you plan a trip.
- Your handle, not your name
- In Race Club you're a handle. Your name, email and profile stay private.
- No shortcuts
- 42.195 or 21.0975. We'll help you get to the start line; the miles are yours.
We'll get you to the start line.
