About
The race
The Coelmo Napoli City Half Marathon takes runners through the most beautiful and historic parts of the city. Fast and perfect for testing limits and improving personal bests, the race is made all the more enjoyable by the wonderful scenery of the course and mild temperatures of around 13 degrees. 17km of the course runs along the coast with spectacular sea views and the bucket-list scenery of Mount Vesuvius in the background. Naples holds both the men's and women's Italian half marathon records, cementing its status as Italy's fastest half marathon.

Pro tips
Racing it
- 01
Flat, So Hold Pace
The entire half marathon climbs only about 40 m, so there is no hill to save for. Settle into even pace from the gun and let the flat course do the work.

The Long Coastal Stretch
17 km of the course runs along the coast, with sea views and Mount Vesuvius behind. That is most of the race, so lock into goal pace early and hold it there.

Fast Company
Both Italian half marathon records were set in Naples, so quick groups form early. Pick one at your target pace rather than running alone on the flat.

One Field, One Race
The half marathon is the only distance, so everyone around you is running your race. Company and pace groups are easy to find from the start.

Getting Around
Seafront roads close on race morning, so walk or take the metro rather than driving. The center is compact and the start area is reachable on foot from most of it.
Where to Watch
Spectators see the most action along the seafront promenade, which the race follows for most of its length. The historic center and its piazzas are a short walk away between passes.
After the Race
Naples is made for a slow recovery day: walk the seafront, then eat pizza and espresso in the historic center. The city is loud, lived-in and warm to runners.
