Experience the beautiful scenery of Scottsbluff and Gering Nebraska. Towering natural landmarks, pine-covered hills, rugged badlands, and a rural landscape provide a stunning and tranquil experience. You'll run along part of the Oregon Trail as the course traverses through Mitchell Pass and around Scotts Bluff National Monument, which rises 800 feet above the North Platte River valley. The marathon begins in the beautiful Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area and descends into Gering Valley. You’ll skirt along the edge of town before joining the historic Oregon Trail as your route circles the Scotts Bluff National Monument along trails accessible to the public on only this one day each year!
