About
The race
The Montpellier Half Marathon runs through both the historic center and the modern districts of this Mediterranean city in southern France. The race typically starts near the city center before heading through wide boulevards and residential neighborhoods. Runners pass sections of the historic Écusson district and several large parks before returning toward the central finish area. The course is mostly flat with a few gentle inclines. Long avenues provide clear sightlines that help with pacing. Local spectators gather along parts of the route, especially in the central areas. The mix of historic streets, modern architecture, and open boulevards gives runners a broad view of the city during the race.
