About
The race
The Marine Corps Historic Half is a scenic, rolling course that showcases the colonial history of Fredericksburg. Starting near the Carl D. Silver Parkway, the route winds through the city's historic downtown district and past numerous 18th and 19th-century landmarks. The course is famously challenging, characterized by its "rolling" terrain and a notorious, grinding climb up "Hospital Hill" in the final miles. It concludes with a signature finish under a large stars-and-stripes arch, supported by U.S. Marines and enthusiastic local crowds.
