About
The race
The Lille International Marathon is a flagship event in northern France, highly regarded for its ultra-flat and lightning-fast terrain. The course is structurally designed to support elite qualification and personal records, layout out across wide, asphalt avenues with virtually no true gradients. Starting near the Boulevard de la Liberté and looping through the major urban arteries of the Lille Metropole, the route balances flat stretches with scenic urban features like the Citadel of Lille. Entirely paved save for a few brief sectors of classic city cobblestones, this loop course utilizes wide roadways that allow runners to lock into a continuous rhythm, culminating in a grand finish at the Place de la République.
