About

The race

The Greater Binghamton Bridge Run is the largest premier running event in the Greater Binghamton area which includes a USATF certified half marathon. The scenic, mostly flat course, crosses over four bridges (Clinton, Court, Tompkins & Washington) and under one (Memorial) where you will have beautiful views of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. It also weaves through Binghamton's Downtown, West and Southsides. With only 100 feet of elevation gain, you don’t want to miss this IN-PERSON, half marathon running race this spring in Upstate New York.

Pro tips

Racing it

  1. 01

    Bridges Are the Only Hills

The course is flat with just 30 m of total climb, and the four bridge crossings (Clinton, Court, Tompkins, Washington) plus the Memorial underpass are the only real ups and downs. Hold effort steady over the decks and ramps.

    Corners Through Three Neighborhoods

The route weaves through Downtown, the Westside and the Southside, so expect turns rather than long straightaways. Set your position before each corner instead of surging out of it.

    Run It Even

With only 30 m of gain on a certified half marathon, this is a course for even splits. Don't bank time early on the flat opening miles; the bridge ramps will cost you later if you do.

In Binghamton

  • Race Day Getting Around

The course uses the downtown bridges and riverfront streets, so those close to traffic during the race. Park a few blocks back from the rivers and walk in rather than trying to cross downtown by car.

  • Where to Watch

The riverfront and the downtown bridges are the best spectator spots, since the course crosses the Susquehanna and Chenango repeatedly. You can catch runners several times without moving far.

  • After the Finish

Binghamton's compact downtown and its riverfront parks make for an easy post-race walk, and the West Side's Recreation Park is a quiet place to loosen up. The city's hills sit just beyond downtown.
