Nestled under the historic temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Egyptian Marathon has been a regular fixture for the past 33 years. This makes it the oldest ongoing marathon in Africa and the Middle East. The route weaves through multiple ancient sites, including the temple of Habou, the temple of Amenophis and the Colossi of Memnon, promising an unforgettable experience steeped in pharaonic tradition. Furthermore, our marathon is accredited by the Abbott World Marathons Majors, allowing participants to earn points towards inclusion in future Major Marathon events.
