Chennai2027

Experience the vibrant energy of the Chennai Marathon, an event that stands as the largest sporting celebration in the city and the second largest marathon in India, only rivaled by Mumbai’s marathon. Organized by Chennai Runners, a dedicated community of volunteers passionate about running since 2006, this marathon is unique in its foundation, being entirely managed by those who love the sport. The marathon has evolved significantly since its humble beginnings as the ECR Run where a small group of running enthusiasts gathered to enjoy a simple run along East Coast Road, followed by a communal breakfast. Now a prestigious annual event, it features multiple race categories including the Half Marathon (21.097 Km) and the Full Marathon (42.195 Km). Join runners from around the globe on the first Sunday in January for an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of the running community and the cultural tapestry of Chennai.
