About
The race
The Toronto Waterfront Marathon takes place in Canada’s largest city and follows a predominantly flat, out-and-back course along Lake Ontario. The race starts in downtown Toronto and heads east and west along the waterfront, using wide city roads and long straight sections that allow for consistent pacing. The route passes through several neighborhoods and parks, offering open views of the lake and a mix of urban and waterfront scenery. Elevation remains low throughout, with only gentle undulations and no sustained climbs, making it a popular course for runners targeting fast times.
