About
The race
The Toronto Marathon takes place in Toronto, Canada, and is known for its net downhill profile that makes it popular for runners aiming for fast times or Boston Marathon qualification. The race begins in the northern part of the city and gradually descends toward downtown Toronto. Early kilometers include rolling terrain through residential neighborhoods before the course drops steadily as runners head south toward Lake Ontario. The route passes through several city districts and parks before reaching the waterfront area. In the later stages the course becomes flatter as runners approach downtown streets and the lakeshore. The race finishes near the waterfront, with the final kilometers running close to Lake Ontario.

Qualifying time
If the qualifying time is equal to the posted cut-off time, the runner will be accepted. If more than 50 runners meet the cut-off, the fastest runners will be accepted until the field is full.
