Pro tips

Racing it

01
Flat but Hot
The course is flat, so aim for even splits, but expect the heat to make the effort feel harder than the elevation suggests.

02
Use the Aid
Hydration and gels are available on the half marathon course, and restrooms are on course, so you don't need to carry everything.

03
Scenic Distraction
The course offers White Rock Lake views; use them as mental breaks but stay focused on pacing in the heat.

In Dallas

Race Day Transit
Dallas is car-dependent; on race morning, expect road closures near White Rock Lake and allow extra time for parking or rideshare.
Spectator Spot
Spectators can catch runners along the White Rock Lake shoreline, which offers open views and multiple vantage points.
Cool Down After
After the race, escape the summer heat in an air-conditioned museum or movie theater; Dallas summers stay hot into the evening.
