How to get into the Oita Marathon 2027.

Ways in

There are 3 ways into the Oita Marathon, each with what it involves and, where we have it, the organizer's own detail.

1. 01

   First come, first served

Entry opens on a set date and closes when the field is full.

At this race: Category 1: all applicants can take part (entries accepted from 28 August 2026, 10:00).

2. 02

   Qualifying time

Run a time under the race's standard for your age and gender within the qualifying window, then apply with proof. At popular races, meeting the time doesn't always guarantee a place.

At this race: Entry by qualifying time: Category 1-4 require a record within the published standards (record certificate from a JAAF- or AIMS-certified course must be submitted).

3. 03

   Club membership

Places set aside for members of a club or running organization, sometimes for completing a set number of its races.

At this race: Categories 1-3 are for JAAF-registered runners (JAAF ID required); Category 4 is open to registered and unregistered runners.

Qualifying times

Entry by qualifying time: Category 1-4 require a record within the published standards (record certificate from a JAAF- or AIMS-certified course must be submitted).

The organizer publishes 6 standards by age and gender. Check yours against your best time, and the window it must have been run in.
