The race
The Lausanne Marathon takes place along the shores of Lake Geneva, offering a scenic point-to-point route between Lausanne and Vevey. The course follows the lake closely, with views of vineyards, mountains, and the water throughout. Runners start in Lausanne and head northeast along the lakeside, passing through small towns and wine-growing regions before finishing in Vevey. The terrain is mostly paved roads and is considered relatively flat, with gentle undulations rather than sustained climbs. The profile shows small rolling sections, particularly early in the race, but overall elevation changes remain moderate and do not significantly impact pacing.
