Illinois

The Illinois Marathon takes place in Champaign–Urbana, Illinois, with a course that runs through both cities and the campus of the University of Illinois. The race typically starts near Memorial Stadium and follows a loop through residential neighborhoods, university streets, and sections of the city center before returning toward the stadium area. Runners pass several campus landmarks and tree-lined streets along wide roads that allow for steady pacing. The elevation profile is very consistent with only gentle undulations throughout the course, making it one of the flatter marathon routes in the United States.
