There are 3 ways into the Boston Half Marathon, each with what it involves and, where we have it, the organizer's own detail.

    First come, first served

    Entry opens on a set date and closes when the field is full.

    At this race: Enter while places last.

  2. 02

    Charity place

    Take a place from a partner charity and commit to raising a minimum amount for it. Charities usually ask you to apply and choose their runners.

    At this race: Run for a partner charity and commit to a fundraising pledge.

  3. 03

    Tour operator package

    Buy a travel package (usually hotel plus race entry) from an official tour operator. It costs more than entering yourself, but the place is guaranteed.

    At this race: Take part through an official International Tour Operator of the B.A.A.; operators sell their entries to athletes who live outside the United States, and each participant must register individually.
